Lukáš Poledno | Algorithmic Design / Engineering _ Design for Architecture

I design and develop elements for architecture – from solving complex geometry and optimizing building envelopes to comprehensive commercial interiors, specific products, furniture, and lighting. I combine aesthetics with perfect technological feasibility and manufacturing logic. I like to prove in practice that algorithmic design does not have to be expensive or unbuildable. Instead of manual routine and human error, I let algorithms do the work – whether translating complex architectural concepts into production reality or designing smartly manufacturable retail interiors.

Algorithmic Design and Engineering

I focus on developing parametric models, surface rationalization, and creating scripts that save time and costs during both the preparation and implementation phases. You can find all my approaches and projects in the Algorithmic Design section.

  • Facade Optimization and Rationalization: I help translate complex visions into reality. I create seamless transitions of perforations using parametric gradients (Facade Optimization) and work on concepts of dynamic elements (Parking House Sketches).

  • Error Detection and Analysis: I develop tools to eliminate human errors – from comparing 3D scans with a theoretical model on-site (Freeform Surface Analysis) to automated visual diagnostics of geometry changes (Input Revisions Script).

  • Smart Manufacturing: Using algorithms, I can fully automate the preparation for CNC milling of complex organic structures (Wood Carving).

Design for Architecture and Interiors

I design spaces and products that organically fit into architecture and complete its details. I create interiors that not only look great but, above all, function commercially and are smartly conceived for serial production.

  • Retail Spaces: I developed a complete and fully modular concept for Luxor Bookstores – 6 branches realized with a total area of over 2,500 m².

  • Cafes and Hospitality: I emphasize a unique atmosphere, which is reflected in the interiors of Kafe Prales or the Page Café concept.

  • Work and Residential Spaces: I design functional, custom-made environments, such as modern Offices, the unique Haaloft, or a fully adaptable Shelving System.

  • Product Design: I apply both parametric and traditional methods when designing specific elements – from ceiling lights and acoustic solutions for industrial halls, through complex details like a Minimalist Railing, to premium Tantum Pipes hookahs.
